Cognizant, one of the world’s leading professional services companies, unveiled – Shakti – a unified framework of women-centric programs and policies to accelerate careers and boost women leadership in technology. Additionally, Cognizant has partnered with nasscom to establish and prioritize best practices with a shared goal of making diversity and inclusion (D&I) a key differentiator of India’s tech sector.
India’s Cognizant has a significant female workforce, with 40% of its associates being women, surpassing the IT industry average of 36%. Over half of its 13 centers have over 40% female workforce. Through Shakti, Cognizant aims to reframe current programs and policies and bring all women-centric initiatives under one umbrella for greater impact. The initiative includes RISE, a leadership development program for mid-level women in India, Propel, a global program for senior women, Returnship, a 12-week paid program for career upskilling, and Be Gritty, a training program for fresh campus hires.
