Tata AIA Life Insurance Company Limited has announced the appointment of Venkatachalam H. as its new Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, pending regulatory approval from IRDAI. Venkatachalam, widely referred to as Venky, brings with him over 27 years of extensive experience across the financial services sector, with a focus on life insurance, asset management, and custodial services.
His tenure at Tata AIA, where he previously held the position of President and Chief Distribution Officer, has been characterized by strategic initiatives in sales, distribution, and digital transformation. Venky’s appointment follows the elevation of Naveen Tahilyani, the outgoing CEO and MD, to the position of Non-Executive Director within the Tata Group.
Under Tahilyani’s leadership, Tata AIA has witnessed significant growth, outperforming industry benchmarks and securing top rankings in retail new business premium and sum assured among private sector life insurers.
