Tata Power’s Haldia Power Project sets industry record with exceptional operational excellence

Tata Power’s Haldia Power plant has achieved a plant load factor (PLF) that surpasses the country’s thermal plant load factor by a staggering 34%. This, coupled with an outstanding auxiliary power consumption (APC) at its configuration and installed capacity, marks a groundbreaking achievement for the 120 MW facility located in East Midnapore, West Bengal.

The plant’s journey towards operational excellence is a testament to collaborative efforts, with key stakeholders, including a notable partnership with Tata Steel. Joint initiatives have optimized process parameters and addressed challenges, resulting in a notable increase in PLF and a commendable reduction in APC. These achievements set new industry benchmarks, underlining the division’s unwavering commitment to maximizing energy output during operational periods.

Tata Power’s Haldia Power Project has not only excelled in operational metrics but also emerged as a pioneer in sustainable practices. Notably, it is the first private power plant in West Bengal to obtain clearance for the open access sale of power.
