Samsung India has announced the top 20 semi-finalists for its flagship CSR program, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024. Among the selected teams is ‘AgriSense’ from East Khasi Hills, Meghalaya, highlighting the impressive geographic diversity of participants.
The program features 51 students from 12 states and 2 Union Territories, including remote areas like Imphal in Manipur and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh. Participants will attend an Innovation Walk at Samsung’s offices and R&D centres.This year’s competition focused on ‘Community and Inclusion’ and ‘Environment and Sustainability.’ Notably, 20% of school track ideas addressed digital literacy and educational access for underprivileged communities. In the youth track, 25% of ideas focused on water conservation and pollution, while 40% tackled air pollution, waste management, and ecological imbalance.
SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia, stated, “This year, we emphasized participation from remote regions, and the diversity of ideas is inspiring. We look forward to seeing these concepts evolve.” The semi-finalists will receive grants for prototype development and Samsung devices. Winners will receive significant seed grants and support for further innovation. Since its launch in 2010, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ has involved over 2.3 million young people across 63 countries, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to empowering future leaders through education.
