Tension erupts during Ram Navami procession in Bengal’s Howrah, CM warns of stern action

After fights between two factions during the Ram Navami celebrations, violence and arson were reported from the Howrah region in West Bengal. Many vehicles were set on fire and local shops were ransacked as a result.
According to a senior police official, a number of persons were detained in connection with this.
In response to the tragedy, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee stated that those responsible would not get off easy and that justice would be served.
