Amazon India experienced its biggest-ever 48 hours of shopping with 9.5 crore customer visits, with Prime members shopping 18x in the first 24 hours of PEA (vs average daily purchase). The Amazon Great Indian Festival 2023 kicked off with unmatched excitement for sellers, with over 65% of sellers hailing from tier 2 and 3 cities. The event also saw a 35% increase in small and medium businesses securing sales within the initial 48 hours compared to 2022.
Over 80% of customers came from non-metro cities, and over 10 lakh customers received same-day delivery across India. Customers booked flights across 200+ cities, and hotels across 260+ cities; a 2.5x increase in flight bookings compared to last year. More than 5,000 new products were launched across various categories. Amazon Pay UPI saw the highest sign-ups in the first 48 hours, with over 35 crore Indians accessing Instant Bank Discount offers on SBI Credit and Debit cards.
