The Defence Research and Development Organization successfully tested the Very Short Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile in two back-to-back flight tests at the Integrated Test Range, Chandipur off the coast of Odisha (DRDO)

Flight tests were conducted using a ground-based man-portable launcher against swift unmanned aerial targets to simulate approaching and departing aircraft.

The mission objectives were met by the successful intercept of the targets.

Short-range low-altitude aerial threat neutralisation is the purpose of the VSHORADS Man Portable Air Defence System (MANPAD).

Research Center Imarat, Hyderabad, in partnership with other DRDO facilities and Indian Industrial Partners, designed and created it locally.
