Thimphu’s Anjali Chhetri secures full scholarship at Tetr College, seeks $32,000 for living expenses

Anjali Chhetri, a 19-year-old from Thimphu, has made history as the first Bhutanese student to earn a full scholarship to Tetr College of Business. This prestigious award will allow her to study across seven countries, including the USA, Italy, Singapore, and Brazil, and attend elite institutions like IIT and NUS. However, Anjali needs to raise an additional $32,000 to cover living expenses for the next four years. To support her journey, Anjali has launched a crowdfunding campaign, which has already attracted significant attention with over 34,000 views in just 24 hours. Prominent figures such as Miss Bhutan 2023, Tashi Choden Chombal, and acclaimed Bhutanese actress Tandin Bidha have endorsed her campaign.

Anjali’s achievements are notable; she has excelled as a class representative, initiated an Instagram bookshop, and engaged in various community service projects despite personal losses. Her selection to Tetr College, with its low acceptance rate and high academic standards, highlights her exceptional potential.
