Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has lauded today’s budget for its well-rounded approach to infrastructure development, social welfare, and environmental sustainability. Mr. Vikram Gulati, Country Head and Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Governance at TKM, praised the budget’s focus on maintaining fiscal discipline with a fiscal deficit target of 4.9%, while bolstering infrastructure and social sector investments.
Gulati emphasized the budget’s commitment to enhancing agricultural productivity and boosting women’s workforce participation, which he believes will distribute economic growth benefits more broadly. He also highlighted the special attention given to the MSME and manufacturing sectors, noting that this will likely elevate their contribution to the national GDP.
The budget’s initiatives for energy transition and climate change were particularly well-received, aligning with TKM’s own sustainability objectives, including achieving carbon neutrality by 2050. Gulati also welcomed the emphasis on education and skill development, notably the new CSR-funded internship scheme designed to improve job prospects for youth.“The tax rationalization will enhance disposable incomes and drive consumption, fueling economic growth,” Gulati commented. “We support the government’s reforms and remain committed to ‘Grow in India, Grow with India’ in alignment with the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’.”
