Two Indian Air Force planes on training mission crash in MP, 1 killed

2 Indian Air Force(IAF) fighter planes which had taken off from the Gwalior Air Base crashed separately at Bharatpur in Rajasthan and Morena, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday morning, resulting into death of a pilot, he was recognised as Wing Commander Hanumanth Rao Sarathi.

Two other pilots of the Su-30 MKI that crashed at Bharatpur managed to escape safely.

According to the sources, it is assumed that there may be a mid-air collision between the Mirage 2000 and the Sukhoi 30 (Su-30 MKI), due to which the two aircraft crashed simultaneously, at sites almost close to each other, but it is yet to get official confirmation of this. A bench of justice will be set up to investigate the exact reason, the IAF stated.
