A lone gunman looted the UCO Bank’s Kakching branch in Manipur during closing hours on Wednesday, October 16, making off with Rs 6.5 lakh in cash. The audacious robbery left bank staff and customers in shock.
According to the branch manager, the assailant entered the bank wearing a mask and wielding a firearm. He swiftly confiscated the mobile phones of everyone present, preventing them from seeking immediate help. Within minutes, the robber emptied the cash counter and fled with Rs 6.49 lakh.
Local police were alerted soon after, launching a search operation to catch the suspect. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage to gather leads on the robber’s identity. No injuries were reported during the incident, but the heist has left the community rattled.
