Ujjivan Small Finance Bank (Ujjivan SFB) has partnered with Water.org, a non-profit organization that provides affordable financing for safe water and sanitation, particularly in India, which has the highest global population, offering a significant opportunity for affordable solutions.
Water.org will aid Ujjivan SFB in identifying areas needing financing for clean water and sanitation. They will offer technical assistance, market assessment, IEC material development, and monitoring support. Ujjivan SFB will offer loans ranging from Rs.6,000 to Rs.1,00,000 for facility construction or renovation. On the occasion, Ujjivan SFB’s Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ittira Davis said “This in turn will help them invest their time in more productive initiatives and contribute more to the economic progress of our country.”
Ujjivan SFB provided over 5,000 Water and Sanitation (WATSAN) loans worth 30 crore last year, enabling customers to build sanitation facilities in line with the Indian government’s Swachh Bharat mission. The partnership aims to provide affordable loans to 65,000 households over the next three years.
