Unless there is a bacterial infection, antibiotics should not be administered with Covid; Center’s directive

According to the Centre’s updated treatment recommendations for adults with adult coronavirus, antibiotics should not be administered in instances of Covid unless there is a clinical suspicion of bacterial infection.
In accordance with the updated recommendations, which were released on Sunday in response to an increase in coronavirus cases, medicines including hydroxychloroquine, molnupirvir, favipirvir, azithromycin, and doxycycline should not be used to treat adult COVID-19 patients in India.
To update the clinical guideline protocol, the AIIMS/ICMR-COVID-19 National Task Committee met on January 5. Moreover, convalescent plasma treatment was discouraged from use by doctors.
