V-Guard Industries Limited has won the prestigious German Design Award 2026 for its Luxecube Water Heater, marking another global recognition for the Indian consumer electrical and electronics brand. The award, presented by the German Design Council, recognises outstanding achievements in product design. The ceremony was held in Frankfurt and brought together leading designers and industry experts from 17 nationalities. The 2026 edition of the German Design Award received more than 3,900 entries from 57 countries, making it one of the most competitive global design platforms. V-Guard’s win highlights the company’s focus on combining functionality, aesthetics and everyday usability. This is also the company’s second consecutive win at the German Design Awards, following last year’s recognition for its Insight-G BLDC Fans.
The award-winning Luxecube Water Heater has been designed for modern homes and comes with Advanced Thermocline Technology that delivers 38% more hot water. It features a titanium-infused enamel-coated tank for enhanced durability and a robust Incoloy 800 heating element built to withstand high pressure and hard water conditions. The heater is available in 10L, 15L and 25L capacities and carries a BEE 5-star rating.
Commenting on the achievement, Managing Director Mithun Chittilappilly said winning the German Design Award for the second consecutive year marks an important milestone in V-Guard’s global design journey and reinforces its commitment to innovation and user-focused design. Kolkata remains a key growth centre for consumer electrical products in eastern India. Industry observers note that rising urban housing and demand for energy-efficient home appliances are driving steady demand for advanced water heating solutions in the region.
