Vodafone Idea, a leading telecom operator in India, has partnered with C-DOT to establish a first-of-its-kind IoT Lab. The lab, which has tested over 50 devices across various industries, aims to promote standardization and interoperability in the IoT ecosystem. It tests and certifies compatibility with oneM2M standards, which have been adopted as the national standard for IoT solution design by BIS.
The Lab-as-a-Service initiative from Vi Business can test 175+ scenarios, including network and functional testing, field testing, application testing, compatibility testing, and oneM2M standard testing.
It can also test 30+ diverse use cases across industries. The lab acts as an IoT ecosystem orchestrator, bringing stakeholders together to ensure a seamless IoT experience. It has certified 5 devices as “network ready” and is now testing 5G and NBIOT devices. The Vi-CDOT partnership is also fostering the IoT ecosystem in India and empowering startups in IoT/M2M by expanding the Vi IoT Lab as the ‘Centre of Innovation’.Elaborating on the efforts of Vi IoT Lab, Arvind Nevatia, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Vi, said, “This collaboration is a reflection of our ongoing efforts to improve the domestic IoT ecosystem while contributing to the growth of the Indian economy.”
