Weathering the Storm: AM/NS India’s Optigal Prime Brings Durability to Jammu & Kashmir’s Infrastructure

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has unveiled its world-class, colour-coated steel, Optigal® Prime, in Jammu & Kashmir, engineered to withstand the Union Territory’s extreme weather conditions, including intense cold, long monsoons, and freeze–thaw cycles. Developed using ArcelorMittal’s patented technology, the product offers up to three times the corrosion resistance compared to conventional coatings, and comes with a 15-year warranty.

Designed for roofing, cladding, and architectural applications, Optigal® Prime’s six specialised variants—High Gloss, Anti-Dust, Anti-Graffiti, Anti-Static, Anti-Microbial, and Cool Roof—make it suitable for both mountain homes and large-scale projects such as airports, railway stations, and highways. Manufactured at AM/NS India’s Pune facility, the product aligns with the Make in India initiative, featuring low VOCs, no heavy metals, and full recyclability.

With Kolkata being a hub for urban construction and commercial infrastructure, Optigal® Prime is expected to find demand among high-end builders seeking durable, weather-resistant steel solutions. Its advanced finishes and European-grade durability are likely to appeal to developers in the city’s growing residential and commercial segments. Mr. Ranjan Dhar, Director & VP of Sales & Marketing, said the launch underscores AM/NS India’s commitment to quality, sustainable, and innovative steel solutions for challenging environments.
