Whitehat Junior Chief Executive Officer Ananya Tripathi has reportedly decided to exit the BYJU-owned company. However, her resignation has not yet been formally accepted, Moneycontrol said, citing four people familiar with the matter. Tripathi, who is on maternity leave from May 2023, is being persuaded to reconsider her decision, the report added.

BYJU’S did not immediately respond to YourStory’s request to confirm the report. Her departure would be one of a string of senior-level departures that have left the edtech company in limbo and flux.

Pratyusha Aggarwal, BYJU’S CBO; Himanshu Bajaj, Business Head of BYJU’s Tuition Centre; and Mukut Deepak, business head of classes 4-10 online and home tuition, have all exited the company. The Byju Ravendran-led company confirmed their departure in a statement on Tuesday, saying it was part of its restructuring programme.

Tripathi was appointed CEO of WhiteHat Jr. in April 2022 after her stint as managing director of KKR Capstone. Prior to this, she was Chief Strategy Officer at Myntra where she led the acquisition of Jabong. BYJU’s head for international operations, Arjun Mohan, has taken over at Whitehat Jr. in Tripathi’s absence.

BYJU’S has cut its workforce both globally and domestically to better navigate the path to profitability, especially after defaulting on a $1.2-billion term loan B earlier this year.

In the past 12 months, it has made several rounds of layoffs as part of cost-cutting measures. Discontinuing WhiteHat Jr, which BYJU founder and CEO Byju Raveendran acknowledged as a cost challenge, has also been discussed, according to a TechCrunch report.
