India Yamaha Motor (IYM) takes a strategic leap in the premium motorcycle segment, announcing the launch of the Yamaha R3 and MT-03. In a calculated move aligning with their brand campaign ‘The Call of the Blue,’ Yamaha aims to solidify its market position by tapping into the demand for high-performance bikes.
Both models, the track-oriented R3 and the street fighter MT-03, boast a 321cc liquid-cooled engine, advanced features like Upside Down Front Forks, and LED lighting. The introduction of these bikes, imported as Completely Built-Up Units (CBUs), will be exclusive to select Blue Square showrooms.
Priced competitively at Rs. 4,64,900 and Rs. 4,59,900 (ex-showroom Delhi) for the R3 and MT-03 respectively, Yamaha aims to lure the young, performance-oriented demographic in India. Mr. Eishin Chihana, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group of Companies, anticipates that these models, showcasing Yamaha’s commitment to technological innovation, will elevate the premium motorcycle segment.
