India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd. (IYM) has introduced the XSR155 in a new ‘Metallic Black’ shade at ₹1,58,990 (ex-showroom, Delhi), strengthening its premium motorcycle line-up amid rising demand for lifestyle-focused bikes. The new variant, featuring golden USD front forks, is aimed at customers seeking a striking and premium look. The deeper black tone enhances the model’s muscular tank, minimalist bodywork and retro-inspired styling cues, reinforcing Yamaha’s modern retro sport positioning. The XSR155, launched in November last year, has received strong response across India and quickly emerged as a preferred choice among enthusiasts.
Hajime Aota, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group, said the launch reflects the company’s rider-first philosophy and responsiveness to customer demand for a black edition. He said Yamaha remains focused on delivering products that combine individuality, performance and styling.
The motorcycle is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), producing 13.5 kW and 14.2 Nm. Built on Yamaha’s Deltabox frame, it comes equipped with an aluminium swing arm, USD forks, linked-type monocross rear suspension, 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS and traction control.
In Kolkata, dealers indicated growing traction for premium 150cc motorcycles, driven by urban youth and working professionals seeking retro-styled yet performance-oriented offerings. The Metallic Black variant is expected to further strengthen Yamaha’s presence in the city’s expanding lifestyle motorcycle segment.
