Zomato rolls out AI chatbot to assist users in placing orders

Zomato, a food delivery platform and restaurant aggregator, has launched “Foodie Buddy” aka Zomato AI. Personalized chatbots will help customers choose what they want to order.
The platform published a blog and said the bot is based on a multiple-agent framework, which equips Zomato AI with different prompts for different tasks, essentially giving it multiple superpowers, ready to serve customers at any time.

The feature will be exclusively available for Zomato Gold customers and will be rolled out in phases.

“Chanting for a specific dish? Zomato AI will present you with a widget, listing all the restaurants that serve your favorite dish. Not sure what to order? No problem! Zomato AI can suggest a list of popular dishes or restaurants, taking the guesswork out of it. Go and select your food,” the blog said.

Adding, “One of the significant advancements we’ve made is building numerous functions into Zomato that we’ve been able to expose to our AI agents. This allows AI agents to dynamically call on any data they have to best serve customer queries.”

Zomato claims that chatbots can handle a range of user queries.
Chatbots are equipped to answer tough questions such as “What should I eat when I’m hungry?” or “Can I eat something that’s high in protein and low in carbs?”

“Zomato AI is focused on helping you find the perfect dish to order while you browse Zomato with your stomach rumbling,” the blog said.
If you want to try out the feature, make sure you have the latest version of the Zomato app and are a Zomato Gold member.
