Zubeen Garg’s ‘Sikaar’ to premiere on September 20: A bold cinematic venture from Assam

The upcoming Assamese film Sikaar, featuring music directed by the legendary Zubeen Garg, is set to release on September 20, 2024. Produced by London-based Sam Bhattacharjee and Mitra Bhattacharya, the film is a bold narrative on the lives of tea plantation workers, focusing on the hardships faced by women in the industry.

Zubeen Garg plays the role of a young plantation worker, while Urmila Mahanta takes the lead alongside him. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Adil Hussain, Siddharth Sharma, Antariksh Saharia, Dhyani Mohan, Jatin Khanikar, and Sanjeev Buragohain. Directed by Debangkar Borgohain, with the screenplay and dialogues by Bishnujyoti Handiquy, Sikaar promises an engaging cinematic experience.

Shot in both Assam and London, Sikaar is designed to appeal to both local and international audiences, blending cultural authenticity with innovative filmmaking.
